These photos are so romantic and beautifully shot by Adrienne Gunde – it does of course help that the couple are both very good looking!. I picked out these photos as I thought its a great way to ‘Save the Date’ rather than sending traditional cards just take some pics and get some photocards made. I also had to post a few other pics of the lovely couple – the roses and the balloons – these little touches just work so well. Fantastic photography by Adrienne Gunde check out her blog for the rest of this shoot. I found these…

How we Saved the Date!

Front Ribbon

The first DIY task that I tackled was our Save the Date cards. Since we are getting married on Easter Saturday, many people we know often go away for an Easter break, as we ourselves did this year, so we wanted to make sure they all knew to keep the weekend free. As soon as we got engaged I knew I would want to make all of our stationery myself. I started thinking about ideas almost straight away but as I was in the middle of my professional exams to become an Architect, I didn’t start making them until my…

Free competition to win wedding goodies

  • August 18, 2009 5:46 pm

There is a free competition going on over at Myriad Genii (they are a luxury wedding planning company) and I thought that I had better spread the word as its not everyday you get wedding freebies handed out. If you are planning an engagement party and want to get the invites designed for free then look no further. The competition is for a lucky couple to win 50 personalised engagement invites and also a session with Myriad Genii to ‘kickstart your wedding plans’ a prize worth over £350. With weddings being so expensive its well worth an entry. The engagement…

Are you looking for ‘Save the Date’ cards? – This free, DIY wedding invite option is pretty cool. Designed by Julie Green from Up Up Creative – they are really unique and more importantly completely free to download.  You add whatever text or captions that you want, print them off on good quality card, cut them out and they are all ready to be sent. I am sure that there was nothing like this in December when I got married – or maybe I just didn’t do my proper research! I think that this design lends itself perfectly to Save…

Save the date invite ideas

I posted last week about my Save the Dates (the DIY version) – but there are lots of ways of letting your guests know about your wedding and I thought that this was quite a novel way – the Save the Date Fridge Magnet by Lovely Favours. You can get whatever you want designed on their stationery and I quite like the idea of sending everyone one of these – if its on their fridge they certainly won’t forget. Lovely Favours is boutique design company that specialises in unusual and unique stationery, favours and table decorations – they say that…

Save the Date – Do it yourself

  • June 10, 2009 6:06 pm

Its one of those tricky things – you need to send something out really before the invite – or at least to let everyone know who is on ‘THE LIST’ and that you want to invite them – a Save the Date is perfect and in line with the rest of our wedding we wanted something a little bit fun, quirky and easy – definitely not something that was going to cost an arm and a leg either. Lovely’s sister happens to be a bit of a design guru and knocked up this simple design for us which we just…
