When we were getting married I wanted to get Lovely a little pressie to give him on the actual wedding day – I thought cufflinks, but I wasn’t very organised, left it to the last minute and only found one pair in Paul Smith that I wasn’t particularly keen on. Don’t get me wrong I love Paul Smith and ended up getting him some special boxer shorts, new socks and a sexy handkerchief (incased he cried!) instead, but the cufflinks just weren’t right. “Can I wear trainers to the wedding?” I’ve heard this question asked by more grooms, groomsmen, and male wedding attendees than just my own sneakerhead husband. Turns out that women aren’t the only ones who like to wear pieces of art on their feet. My husband showed up on the Day wearing a pair of Lavan calfskin boots that he personally handpainted with my portrait. I absolutely loved them and thought they were a one-of-kind addition to his wedding day kit. I think it would be a great idea to have the groomsmen all wear the same trainers with artwork…
