The first DIY task that I tackled was our Save the Date cards. Since we are getting married on Easter Saturday, many people we know often go away for an Easter break, as we ourselves did this year, so we wanted to make sure they all knew to keep the weekend free.

As soon as we got engaged I knew I would want to make all of our stationery myself. I started thinking about ideas almost straight away but as I was in the middle of my professional exams to become an Architect, I didn’t start making them until my exams were over and I had passed, which was in March this year, almost a year before the big day.

However, this didn’t stop me collecting everything I needed to make the Save the Date cards. Having looked at hundreds of ideas in magazines, on blogs and wedding websites, I knew I wanted to incorporate different layers, purple card, vellum paper, ribbon and some stamping! I decided against magnets or folded cards early on and went for a small credit card sized card which I thought would be the most simple!

I actually bought the ribbon in Kate’s Paperie in New York, the day after we got engaged. Luckily my aunt and uncle went to New York in May this year and they were able to get me more ribbon to use on the invites! Although I couldn’t get any more of the purple card, I managed to find a company who had almost the same colour to use for the invitations.

You can find a full list of the items we used and where we got them on my blog – <a href="http://ourdaybydesign.blogspot.com/2009/08/save-date.html"target="_blank">OurDaybyDesign

Although I really enjoyed making the save the date cards, they were so time consuming! They were only A7 size cards but this actually caused a few problems when I was trying to print onto the white paper. They kept getting stuck in the printer which was so frustrating! Of course, when it worked well it was fine! Since I wanted to use the purple card as a backing but also wanted to incorporate vellum, I ended up with the 3 layer design. I couldn’t stick the paper and card together until I had stamped the paper and let it dry which added to the time it took.

However, the most time consuming part was punching the slots to put the ribbon through which also secured the vellum layer! I hadn’t considered the thickness of the card and when the paper was stuck down it made it even harder to punch. The making memories slot punching tool I used was great but I think I expected to be able to use it really quickly like a hole punch when in reality I had to use a lot of pressure. So much so that I actually broke the first slot punching tool attachment and had to buy another full set!

So although I knew I would want the wedding invites to follow the same theme, straight away there was no chance of ribbon slot punching being incorporated again! I am using the purple card in pocketfolds for the day invites and gatefold cards for the evening invites. The original paper I used has a sparkling iridescent quality which I definitely wanted to use again, especially since the purple card and the grey backing card I added are flat matt colours. I also managed to find a different larger stamp which has the same sort of motif, as I thought the original one was too small for the invitations. I am using the same colour of ink again so that it looks the same.

Then of course, the ribbons will also be used, again at the left side of the invite so I can continue with the text on the right. I decided not to use a vellum overlay on the invites but instead started thinking about other ways to incorporate transparent paper. I considered going for a bellyband made of vellum but went off that idea when I started thinking about how I would close it neatly and the size required since the previous vellum used only came in A4 sheets! I decided to use grey ribbon for the bellyband to contrast with the purple card which works a lot better and is great since I do love ribbon! So in the end I have decided to go with vellum envelopes as that way the gorgeous purple card and grey ribbon can be seen as soon as they arrive through our guest’s letterboxes!

Despite them taking much longer than anticipated, all of the guests really liked them and thought they looked great which makes it all worthwhile! I hope they say the same about the wedding invites, which you can see a sneak peek of them below! I planned to get all of the printing, stamping, backing cards & ribbon put on the day invites before I go on holiday on Saturday but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I have done 36, with another 12 at least printed which only leaves another 10 to do. However, we still have plenty time as we are not planning to send them out until January. Looks like I will be busy over Christmas!

The recession has made us all that little bit more resourceful, especially when it comes to finding the best value wedding dresses. There are thousands of articles available on the Internet, in magazines and specialist websites designed to aid in this pursuit. We’ve all read about the 5p wedding dress on eBay, designer warehouse sales, charity shops and high street shops that offer affordable wedding dresses. But have you heard of the untapped Aladdin’s cave of wedding dresses in dry cleaners?

Think about it, a bride has had the most amazing day of her life, she is back from honeymoon and carefully chooses a reputable dry cleaners to take care of her special dress. Once the dress is there, the bills for the wedding start to come through, the credit card bills from honeymoon arrive on the doorstep and she can’t choose which photographs to have so she has them all. Something has to give – the answer she doesn’t go back to collect the dress and pay the large dry cleaning bill.

Dry cleaners have in their code of conduct, do keep any unclaimed items for a designated period after they should have been collected, but after that? From this point onwards a dry cleaner is just looking to cover the original cost of cleaning the dress so they are not out of pocket.

“It amazes me how many brides, simply do not come back to collect their dresses” Says Nick from Mr Ps Dry Cleaners, Bristol. “It has always been the case that some brides, simply did not return, but since the recession we have been seeing this more and more. We pride ourselves on our excellent cleaning and restoration service which includes fixing the dress for any beading or embroidery damage that happened during the happy day. The unclaimed dresses take up too much storage room.”

With wedding dress dry cleaning starting from £150, you could grab a bargain. So if your wish is to find a nearly new wedding dress – get on your magic carpet and head on down to your local dry cleaners.

Thanks to Laura Payne from Myriad Genii who wrote this insightful article – if you’re on a budget I would say its definitely worth checking out the local dry cleaner. I have also seen some pretty nice dresses in some charity shops in certain areas of London (Chelsea, Islington)

Getting bridesmaid dresses made to measure is a real treat but can end up being quite expensive (and time consuming with all the fittings) so hear are a couple of great alternatives.

Check out these lovely bridesmaid dresses below from Just Dresses, who specialise in flower girl dresses and childrens bridesmaid dresses – I think that they are really cute but most importantly are an easy, good value solution, with prices ranging from £30 to £60.

They can all be bought off the peg so if they’re in stock you can have them almost immediately so it can be a good option for people like me that leave everything to the last minute. I would, however, suggest ordering in good time prior to the wedding due to the popularity of some of the styles. I learnt the hard way at my wedding leaving it all too late and having to have my bridesmaid dresses (from Dessy) expressed over from the US and paying a hefty charge for doing so…. there is something to be said for the early bird catches the worm!

Talking of my wedding I chose Monsoon for my little flowergirl as I wanted something stylish, easy, good value (and also hopefully something that she could wear again). Monsoon seems to be a firm favourite for cute bridesmaid dresses and I had little Minnie dressed in this beautiful mink coloured dress with a cosy little cardigan to keep her warm.

My older bridesmaids all wore different colours of the same style long bridesmaid dress from Dessy (which we ordered in standard sizes). It did all add up with the extra costs of the alterations and the last minute express posting so that each dress ended up costing about £300 (still I imagine that you can pay a lot more than that if they are made to measure). The little shrugs were a steal at about £45 from Coast, they kept the girls warm and I thought that they all looked gorgeous. Whilst getting ready in the morning we all helped make each others bouquets from seasonal winter roses and berries, tied in antique white lace – another little way to keep the costs down.

So there are lots of great options out there that need not cost the earth or take forever involving lots of fittings and stress. Check out Just Dresses website for more information on styles and costings and if you are wondering who did the the cute photography for their catalogue shots it was Tino&pip – whose lovely work we have featured before in our real life weddings section.

Here is my weekly wedding blog round up. What I have enjoyed reading this week – take a peek, leave me comments and your thoughts or just point me in the direction of any good ones I am missing please!

This week I am starting with Myvintageparty blog which funnily enough is a blog for all things vintage old and lovely. Myvintageparty hires out vintage china and crockery for special events and weddings and the more recent addition to the company is the fabulous vintage caravan (which I just love). Hire it for a vintage hen party or for afternoon tea and cakes on your wedding day (it looks like you can sleep in it too so there is little need to elope off to a hotel for your first night of married bliss!). What a great, fun and slightly novel idea – there is lots of other good chat, vintage tips, photos and inspiration on her blog.

For my photography choice it has to be Elemental Weddings and Portraits blog This couple are photographers based up in Scotland and their blog is full of pics of all the weddings that they have been shooting. There is clearly a LOT of wind up there in Scotland but they still manage to get pics of the bride and groom looking calm and relaxed – no wonder they are shortlisted for VOWS Awards 2009 (awards for the Scottish Wedding Industry). Check out their blog for recent pics from some lovely Scottish weddings and get voting for them for these Awards.

I got sent this blog by the bride herself Mithi, check out her wedding blog posts at Planetmithi blog – her wedding might be over now but looks like it was a whole load of fun. And more importantly for us it has masses of good ideas and tips (to steal) such as using old milk bottles for table numbers, really cool DIY table decorations, flower arrangements and hand designed name places.

Table numbers for Wedding - via Planet Mithi

If you’re looking for a few green tips I like her idea of a great way to recycle the flowers – she gave cellophane flower bags filled with flowers from the table arrangements to people as leaving presents. Wow I would have loved to have been at her wedding all very creative (which I suppose you would expect from someone that is an illustrator). Her blog is well worth a good read and a haven of inspiration for anyone getting married or involved in wedding planning.

Tabletop and decorations - via Planet Mithi

And last but by no means least – it is the blog of wedding planner Zoe Lingard. Her style and inspiration boards are beautiful and her blog is a good source of inspiration and tips for couples getting married – like for example the brilliant post that she has just written on wedding favours. Before meeting a wedding planner, or considering taking one on its well worth a look at their blog as it is an insight into their sense of style, what they like and how they work.

I am meant to recommend 5 but I have already written a long post and these 4 are so good that they make up for me missing out one!

Create your own wedding thank you cards with this step by step guide to say a great big thank you for all those lovely wedding gifts – if you’re creative and looking for DIY wedding tips then this one is perfect!

Your wedding day was like a fairy tale. You’re tanned, chilled out, and all loved-up from your honeymoon. And while you can’t believe it’s all over, you are also relieved. Well, it’s not ALL over yet. You don’t just get loads of gifts and cash for nothing! You’ve still got the task of the Thank-You Cards.

To be honest, I wasn’t particularly looking forward to this. I was done with spending money on wedding-related things, plus I couldn’t find any cards that I was crazy about. I looked into having ones custom-made, and it was a mini-fortune..

One day I had a lightbulb moment, and I’m glad I saw this one through. I can’t tell you how many of our friends and family raved about the thank-you cards we sent. They said they had either framed it, or even better, hung it on their fridge.

These cards are simple, inexpensive, unique, and practically fail-proof. It’s got just enough of a DIY element to keep it fun without being an ordeal. Read on…

Step 1: Select a photo you and your hubby both love. We chose this one because not only did we think it was a great shot, but it also captured the soul of our wedding.

Step 2: Get the image printed at a photo shop. Simple prints will do. You can choose black & white or color, matte or glossy, and the size of the print. I went with a standard 4 x 6”, but go for a 5×7”, a long rectangle, or funky square. Make it a unique piece to thank everyone for being there on your unique day.

Step 3: Find a card stock and envelopes at a stationary/art supply store. There are masses of colors to choose from. You can either go for a postcard or a more traditional fold-out card. Any store with a good paper selection will have both. You will be able to carry on the look and feel of your wedding through the color, texture, and size selection of the cards and envelopes. I chose a white card stock with a matte silver envelope to add a touch of fun and elegance. Remember, this is still part of your wedding celebration, so have fun with it!

Step 4: Stick the card stock to the to photo print. I think that keeping the photo flush with the edge of the card looks best, but if you like a border, but all means…You’ll want to use photo tape or double stick tape. Glue just gets messy and complicated, especially since you are working with photo paper. Photo tape is super easy to use and will make your cards look professionally done because the edges of the photo and the card stock will be seamlessly attached.

Final touches: You’ll want to make sure that all cards are taped together straight. If you are going the flush-edges route, you can trim of any slightly crooked sides with an Exact-o knife and a straight edge. Also, I was really lucky to find this precious bride and groom stamp for a few quid. I used it on the card and as a seal design for the envelope. Got tons of compliments on this. Try to find a little personalized accent to add to your wedding thank-yous – a feather, beads, dried flowers from the wedding arrangements are a few ideas.

I had good fun making and writing our thank-yous. I put a lot of love into each one because I was so grateful that everyone made the effort to be with us to celebrate our marriage.
There are a bazillion options for wedding day hairstyles. But here are five practical tips that I gathered from my own wedding experience:

1. Choose a style you know works for you.

If you normally wear your hair back, go for an up-do on the Day. If you’re used to wearing your hair down, leave your mane to roam free. And if you know your locks go limp after an hour, look into to dos with lasting volume. But most importantly, go with the style that you feel like your fabulous yourself in and wear it with grace.

2. Do a trial run.

When I read this suggestion in wedding mags, I scoffed. I really did not think this was necessary. Whoops! Although I was fortunate enough to have my hair turn out as I wanted, I ran into an unanticipated snafu. My veil was attached to a comb, but with all the pins holding my bun together, the comb couldn’t get all the way through. To my dismay, a few ‘memorable-moments’ photos were ruined by the view of the comb peeking out of my bun. I’m sure I was the only one who noticed, but still! I wouldn’t have been constantly shoving the comb back in during the post-ceremony photos if I had been smart and done a trial run.

3. Bring a photo to your stylist.

No matter how anti naff bridal magazines you are, you will undoubtedly be tempted to gloss through a few during your early wedding planning stages. In them you are will likely find a photo of the hairstyle you want for the Day. Supplying your hairstylist with a photo will definitely decrease the chance of any surprises (but a trial run virtually eliminates the possibility of terrifying tresses on your special day).

4. Take the weather into account.

If you know you tend to easily get the frizzes and you are planning an August wedding in say…Miami, an up-do just might be the way to go. If it’s an outdoor wedding, factor in the wind. I’m not suggesting you let the location dictate the hairstyle but simply take it in into consideration.

5. Get your cut/colour done at least a week before the Day.

As you all know, it takes about a week for your new cut/colour to settle in. Plus, in the week leading up to your wedding, no matter how under control you think things are, you will be busy with last minute details. It is highly unlikely (and not recommended) that you will have the time to get a cut/colour done on the day of the wedding. So make an appointment with your trusted stylist for 1-2 weeks before the big Day and let your pre-wedding pampering begin!

Ultimately you want to be comfortable with your hair, and you want it to last through lots of hugs, kisses, photos, cake-cutting, and dancing. Thank god for our stylists, who have tricks us lay people know nothing about.

Another beautiful wedding.. normally we focus on weddings and brides based in the UK and look to show UK wedding ideas, but saying that there are so many great tips and wedding ideas to be had from celebrations abroad that I had to include this one (and I adore the pics). Just because these shots might be from sunny California it doesn’t mean that you can’t create the same atmosphere and feeling in Cornwall or Devon!

I had six weeks to plan my wedding. My British fiancé was in London while I, an American, was doing 60-hour work weeks in LA. But the sooner we got married, the sooner we could live together without any hassles. Legal hassles, that is.

Thank god for my best friend, Conor. She was made redundant at the same time I got engaged and appointed herself as my wedding planner. She had a stack of bridal magazines and a bottle of chilled champagne ready to go about three seconds after she heard my news. The wedding would not have been what it was without her – she was my rock through the whole experience.

We wanted everything to be beautiful, simple, and comfortable. This, in my native Californian mind, translated to a beach wedding with “casual elegance”. The big plan was to have no plans and to let the event unfold organically. Risky, I know.

The Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony started on Butterfly Beach at 4pm. After a full day of being pampered and chauffeured around, I was ready for the show. My Father escorted me down the stretch of beach leading to the ceremony. The sensation of sand running through my bare feet was both comforting and euphoric. I felt the love and excitement from strangers sitting on the beach. A group of people whooped for me, and I whooped back. My Dad kept things real by telling me about a parking incident he had earlier in the day.

We arrived at the bamboo gazebo draped with gauzy tulle and orchids and the raspy roar of the ocean behind it. To make the scene even more disgustingly perfect, three dolphins circled in the water to wish us well. My Dad gave me a kiss and dropped me off at the gazebo to marry Dominic. As I’m scanned Dom’s face to see if he liked my outfit, I realized that I was looking at the face I would be looking at for the rest of my life.

Throughout the ceremony I was manic with tears and laughter. I felt confident and excited, while Dominic was endearingly speechless and nervous. Several times I thought, “I’m getting married. Like they do at friends’ weddings and in movies. I’m actually doing it right now.” It was surreal, for sure.

After the hectic post-wedding photo session, Dom and I hopped in a flashy BMV convertible (Dom’s splurge) and we whisked off to the reception with my veil trailing in the sunset.

The Wedding Party
Their itinerary for the reception was fairly loose. No speeches or first dances were planned, just a champagne toast and the cutting of the wedding cake. The flamenco guitarist we miraculously booked two weeks before the wedding was the perfect cohesive to our sunset cocktail hour, which turned into two because everyone was having too much fun. People were drinking loads. It made me so happy! As for me, Conor had given the staff strict instructions to keep my champagne glass topped up at all times, which also made me very happy.

As it happens at weddings, many people are meeting for the first time. This could provide for one of two outcomes: an awkward, slightly dull event or a lively, colorful one. So, it truly filled my entire being with joy when the latter outcome emerged. Hearing the excited chatter and seeing the beaming smiles of all our loved ones in a relaxed session of mingling was the ultimate wedding gift.

During the champagne toast, Dominic surprised me with a speech he had been secretly working on for the last month. Then Conor pops up with her own secret speech. Next, my sister reads a poem she wrote for Dom and I. At this point I am a teary, giggling mess, who I was convinced was the happiest person on the entire planet. To heighten my emotions to colossal levels, both our Mum’s say something for us. Finally, two of Dom’s mates close the unplanned speech portion of the reception. I couldn’t have dreamt of more heartfelt, genuine, funny speeches.

Dom and I are big music aficionados, so we didn’t want to hear a DJ’s rubbish music all night nor did we want to hire a band. Instead, a DJ friend of Dom’s made a four-hour wedding playlist for us based on both our musical tastes as well as any specific songs we wanted to include. There wasn’t a dance floor at our venue, as we didn’t expect any dancing. But the drinks were flowing, the music was kicking, and a dancefloor was born. Everyone from my 19-year old brother to my 75-year old Uncle Fred was having a good old time. Completely unplanned, Dom and I had our first dance as husband and wife to Sexy Cinderella by Lynden David Hall (and I couldn’t have planned a better first dance song).

More alternate approaches

There were many things we did unconventionally.

We didn’t have time for traditional printed invitations so Dominic created a groovy online invite, complete with maps, links for hotels/local transport, and location information.

We didn’t do bridesmaids or groomsmen. But getting ready with my best ladies while snacking on champagne and cheese in a Four Seasons oceanfront suite are some of my fondest memories from the Day. I had my bridesmaids, regardless of what dress they were wearing.

We passed on the wedding favors option (couldn’t be bothered). And instead of placecards, we assigned a table number to each guest allowing them arrange themselves at their designated table. Worked out fab! Zero confusion and it added to the laid-back atmosphere.

We abhorred the idea of posey-posey photos, so we commissioned my 19 year-old brother and his best friend, both talented budding photographers with professional grade equipment. We were thrilled with the quality and welcomed the fresh and unique perspective on wedding photographs.

We gave our wedding a skeleton and allowed it to evolve naturally. Our friends and family had our backs and that made both Dom and I incredibly happy and relaxed. Conor deftly handled all the details, like framing childhood photos Dom and I for the Welcome Table, yelling at the chair delivery guy for getting lost, and making sure people had transport from the ceremony to the reception. I would choose to have our wedding ten times over. It was, undoubtedly, the happiest day of my life.

If you read my previous post on my home-grown romantic country wedding then I hope that you enjoyed it – here are some top tips to recreate some of those little touches from my special day and more importantly to do it on a budget.

Beg, steal borrow!
There’s something about weddings that makes people –even strangers to the bride and groom – extraordinarily open minded and giving. Max out on this generosity while it lasts! We had planted masses of sweet peas for our wedding which– devastatingly, after months of love and care, had withered by the big day. I couldn’t believe it when driving past a complete stranger’s house, they had a garden brimming with sweet peas. I stopped the car and chanced my luck, explaining my ill-fated sweet pea saga. To my surprise, and delight, they offered me –literally the pick of the bunch – I came home with a boot full of sweet smelling blooms which made all 50 of our table arrangements, and my bouquet!.

Country lovers -get planting!
We grew most of our tomato and basil salad ourselves –in about 50 hanging baskets and pots in our London back yard. We were so proud that our guests were eating our own homegrown produce.
If you don’t already know it, get acquainted with cosmos the easiest to grow, cheapest, loveliest white frothy flower, perfect either in the garden or picked in arrangements and bouquets.

Have a wedding list with John Lewis
I’ve known so many poor newlyweds who have lost all of their wedding presents through Wedding list companies going bust. Not only was it incredibly disappointing for them, but and their guests had then sweated blood trying to get their money back and then scratch their heads about what else to get the couple. Invariably the poor couple end up with endless decanters and photo frames but no kettle or toaster. That’s why I’d always recommend John Lewis, at least for basics – they are great value for kitchenware and unless the credit crunch crunches a lot harder, is not going bust in a hurry. If you don’t need everything now, why not ask for JL vouchers, because you’re sure to need them one day (esp. when tiny feet begin to patter) You can then ask close friends and family for more specific or personal presents. You can also have a look at our wedding gifts section for more wedding present ideas and posts on gift lists.

Shop at Bicester Village
For stylish but inexpensive shoes, hosiery and undies, pay a trip to Bicester Village (or somewhere similar that is has a discount outlet). I had despaired of the endless clumpy cream silk wedding shoes I’d seen in wedding shops, but then while looking for shoes for my bridesmaid in Bicester’s LK Bennett, fell upon the perfect pale pink suede slingbacks for £30.

Pick your hairdresser with care.
So many brides feel let down by their hair on their wedding day. Either hairdresser’s sculpt style far too rigidly, or they wash their hands altogether of anything beyond a beautiful blow dry, leaving the bride to contend with hair, veil, tiara etc. I think its really worth a trial run with all your accessories, to make sure you get the perfect wedding hair.

There are lots more wedding tips from real life brides, offering advice and inspiration – please do let me know if you have any to add to the ever growing list…..

I suppose that is the exact point of this site – to give people unique wedding ideas, advice and tips to have the wedding that they want to have without it needing to cost the earth. It can cost the earth if you want it too, but its amazing what you can do with nature, friends (preferably creative ones!), family, laughter, a bit of love and a bit of inspiration from other people’s weddings…. so read on (its her words not mine)

Its all about getting the friends and family involved……

As a child, my favourite book was Brambley Hedge’s Summer story, which tells the tale of two loved-up mice, Poppy Eyebright and Dusty Dogwood, who tie the knot in rustic splendour beneath the wild honeysuckle on a raft floating downstream. Sadly my Mum and Dads’s house in the country doesn’t stretch to a river, and my fiance Ned’s handy work wouldn’t stretch to a raft for 150 guests, but I wanted to try to recreate some of the country charm I had always associated with Poppy Eyebright’s nuptials, without getting too carried away with the tweeness of it all.

It was a tall order to tick all of my boxes: natural, countrified, ecological, home-grown or home, rustic, yet stylish without being twee!

We went for long trestle tables, an old fashioned marquee with poles on show (not for pole dancing, although there’s a thought), seasonal flowers, fairy lights, bunting, and as many home made trimmings as possible.

A summer wedding was key because to save the planet (and lets face it money) I wanted to keep things seasonal, but wanted masses of flowers. Whenever family friends offered help, we simply asked for flowers – whatever they could forage from their own and nature’s garden. We ended up with sweet peas, honeysuckle, cosmos, roses and hydrangeas by the wheel barrel load, plus all manner of bushy greenery from the hedgerows. We hardly spent a penny on extra flowers.

Table arrangements - fresh, locally sourced flowers

When it came to food, again we wanted seasonal fare as far as possible – a hog roast with late summer roasted veg and salad and a home made wedding cake (choc with white choc icing), decorated with autumn berries (recipe to follow).

White chocolate and summer fruit homemade wedding cake

Decoration-wise, we did as much as we could ourselves. We twined ivy and fairy lights around the marquee poles, used old terracotta pots for vases, filled with honeysuckle and sweet peas and beech leaves from the hedges. For place names we wrote on large ivy leaves with silver pens, and for lighting we scattered tea lights in tiny glass vases (IKEA). I’d always wanted reams of bunting of but however I tried, I couldn’t find it for less that £5 a metre, and our budget certainly couldn’t manage £500 for bunting alone. So I went to a local fabric shop and bought loads of different coloured gingham material. My mother in law lovingly cut out about 1000 triangles of each and stapled them on to the longest ribbon of gingham you have ever seen. Lets just say, we weren’t short of the stuff, and we still use it now – and my daughter Lily has it hanging in her bedroom.

One of our greatest finds were some end of line spotty napkins from Woolworths – for £2 for 5 each they turned out cheaper than hiring them for caterers, and we got to keep them –Lily has just had them at her first birthday party.

Everybody said we had the quintessential country wedding, and to veer away from over tweeness we made sure the cocktails were flowing and the music was rocking all night. As far as I remember the Brambley Hedge mice didn’t do their first dance to Prince’s Kiss.
