I hope you are all having a lovely weekend, enjoying this gorgeous summery weather. Anyway I’m not sure if you saw the real life wedding that I featured recently which was shot by Sam Clayton? – (if not have a quick peek at Hannah and Steven’s Easter wedding). Well I was actually lucky enough to get 2 submissions from her, and I loved the photos so much that I decided to feature both sets. These photos are from Lisa and Damian’s wedding at Cripps Barn near the beautiful village of Bibury in The Cotswolds.

Lisa and her bridesmaids got ready at the New Inn in Coln St Aldwyns – take a look at the site its a lovely quirky/luxury hotel (that is going on my list!). Her gift to her bridesmaids was a pearl bracelet with a litle silver heart and was presented in an unusual gift box – a beautiful art deco style bird! Damian also bought Lisa the same bracelet to wear as a surprise (sweet!!)

The bridesmaids wore cream dresses from Monsoon and had tulip bouquets.
Damian met with his best man and ushers at the The Village Pub in Barnsley for a drink before heading to the venue in a VW camper van. This camper van then picked up Lisa, her dad & bridesmaids.

The ceremony was held in the Barn hall in front of a large open fire, with the wedding breakfast in a marquee attached to the Barn. Lisa had used vintage tea cups and saucers to display candles and tealights on the tables.

The couple grew up, and met in Blackpool so their favours were – of course – a stick of Blackpool rock.
The cupcake wedding cake (isn’t it fab! that big one is just amazing!) went down well with the guests who were told to help themselves.

The guests danced the night away to a live band in the barn hall. Despite the rainy weather it didn’t seem to dampen anyone spirits….
So Sam what was the best thing about photographing Lisa and Damian’s wedding?
“When Lisa asked me to do her wedding photography I was thrilled. I had met Lisa when she was a bridesmaid at her friends wedding which I had photographed a few years previously. When Lisa then told me she was marrying at Cripps Barn it got even better! I had only just come across Cripps Barn the previous week whilst surfing the web and thought how much I would like to do a wedding there. Being some 200 miles away I didn’t think it would ever happen! Lisa & Damian’s wedding had a lovely, laid back, retro feel to it which, along with those gorgeous bridesmaids dresses and fabulous details I loved photographing.”
What another great wedding, Lisa and Damian you wedding looked amazing and I have to say that Sam has taken some really lovely photos. What a great choice of venue – its really unique, guests are allowed to camp in the grounds, there is no corkage fee and you can have log fires inside and outside. Cripp’s Barn sounds really special.
The photographer, Sam, is based in the North West, and mainly photographs weddings in Lancashire, Yorkshire, Chesire & the Lake District but will also do wedding elsewhere in the UK. Have a look at her site Sam Clayton Photography and her blog

Gorgeous bridesmaids dresses! Many weddings you see the seem to have little care in the bridesmaids dresses, but these are stunning!
