I’m not sure if you know that I have a little obsession with buttonholes. Yes I have written about it before on LMW (buttonholes fit for a wedding), but I wanted to do an updated post with these photos as they’re really crisp and clear (just like a groom’s buttonhole should be).
BTW all of these gorgeous wedding buttonholes were created by Planet Flowers and photographed by Rankine Photography.

(1) Rose; (2) Eryngium; (3) Phalaenopsis Orchid

(4) Rose + Lily of the Valley + Stephanotis; (5) Rose; (6) Eryngium + White Heather

(7) Cymbidium Orchid; (8) Rose + mixed berries; (9) Lily of the Valley + Heather

(10) Rose + Berry; (11) Calla + Mokara Orchid

(12) Rose + Lily of the Valley; (13) Spray Rose
Gemma @ Planet Flowers – thank you for feeding my obsession with buttonholes (and talking us through all the different flowers involved). I have to say that Planet Flowers are one of my favourite florists and come highly recommended – I know many of the scottish photographers that I feature on LMW work with them regularly and speak very highly of them. Do make sure that you check out their site, Planet Flowers, for more examples of their work.

These are beautiful! My favourite is hard to choose but I think its got to be the classic orange/red rose and berries, it looks amazing!

Absolutely love them! Nice to see something out of the “norm”.
I have to say, these buttonholes are great – unusual even quirky but totally unique! So nice to see some imagination in this area . . .

I know Anny I really like the Eryngium – for some reason it reminds me of Scottish weddings. I had something similar to no 8 with the roses and berries for the guys @ our wedding, but I have to say that they are all fab. Especially when they look so fresh
Love the pink rose in the first pic-would never have said a pink rose would be my first choice as a buttonhole but it looks stunning!

When I got married every button hole was a carnation. I love the choice on offer today. My favourites are the roses in dainty pink and off white colours.
They are very elegant and it is very hard to choose the best. But perhaps, I’ll for the simple white rose. It’s lovely!
These are great, and I love your attention to detail. I’ve given you kudos here: http://www.weddingvideosolutions.org.uk/index.php/10-top-wedding-blogs/

4th one down is my favourite, very unusual.
Thanks a lot for the buttonhole list. I’ll definitely send this on to my upcoming clients, so that they can get some inspiration. After all, all too often it’s the little details that make all the difference!
Keep up the good work!

Didn’t really know that you could make up button holes in so many ways!! Great tips. I am always looking for something new, here it is – something unexpected.
LOL! It seem’s that gents are getting as fussy about their button holes as the ladies are about their hats! The second to last one for me. Nice and simple!
Buttonholes can be a challenge, trying to fnd something a little different yet still look classic. Fantastic post, the cream and blush pink roses are beautiful!
