Real life wedding abroad… relaxed Californian beach wedding

  • August 24, 2009

Another beautiful wedding.. normally we focus on weddings and brides based in the UK and look to show UK wedding ideas, but saying that there are so many great tips and wedding ideas to be had from celebrations abroad that I had to include this one (and I adore the pics). Just because these shots might be from sunny California it doesn’t mean that you can’t create the same atmosphere and feeling in Cornwall or Devon! I had six weeks to plan my wedding. My British fiancé was in London while I, an American, was doing 60-hour work weeks in…

Happily married couple after the service

If you read my previous post on my home-grown romantic country wedding then I hope that you enjoyed it – here are some top tips to recreate some of those little touches from my special day and more importantly to do it on a budget. Beg, steal borrow! There’s something about weddings that makes people –even strangers to the bride and groom – extraordinarily open minded and giving. Max out on this generosity while it lasts! A natural country wedding in Oxfordshire – a ‘romantic home-grown wedding’ were the words of the bride herself. Elisa and hubbie on the beach having just said I do!

Weddings are meant to be fun, stress free and relaxed , but often I have seen brides get upset, anxious and not really enjoying the run up to the wedding and all the planning.   Its all meant to be about you as a couple and what makes you both happy -take time out to be together and remember what is really important about getting married. Lovely Elisa had only 6 weeks to plan her wedding, but did a fab job of it.  Reading her real life wedding stories (which are going to be up on the site shortly) made…

  • August 18, 2009

Real Life Weddings – thats me!   I have been to some fabulous weddings recently and just can’t wait to cover them in the real life weddings section. One down in Devon which was beach themed – an old rowing boat fill to the brim with ice, champers and other alcoholic drinks, chocolate sea shells on the tables, hand made devon fudge (made by the bride and groom!) given out as favours, beach named tables and lots of other lovely touches.   Then the circus themed family and friends affair just this last weekend, which saw us head down to Cornwall…
